The #KEM team was excited to honor the U.S. Air Force’s 69th birthday by attending The Air Force Association’s Air, Space and Cyber Conference, September 19-21, 2015 at the National Harbor, Maryland.
Air, Space & Cyber Theme: Airmen, Industry, and Allies – A Global Security Team
We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with our friends in Air Force leadership and industry, academia & aerospace partners to work innovative solutions focused on #KEM Domains of space, cyber, and missile defense as “A Global Security Team” addressing critical issues and challenges currently facing the U.S. warfighter and the aerospace market.
One highlight of the event included the aircraft naming of B-21 stealth bomber as Raider as a tribute to the 1942 Doolittle Raid on Tokyo in World War II with one of the Doolittle Raiders, Lt. Col. Richard Cole (101-years old), on stage with Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James during the announcement.
#KEM is grateful to support this great opportunity and looks forward to next year!
With 2017 defense budget request release ($582.7 billion base budget and overseas contingent operations, 2/2/2016) & the President’s last State of the Union address (1/12/2016), it is key to take a moment for the A&D market to reflect and understand the trend for the rest of the year and his administration.
As #KEM looks to the future and growing global challenges, we focus on Secretary Carter’s comments regarding trade-offs between force structure for modernization to support the U.S.’s technological innovation edge across air, land, sea, cyber, space, and electronic warfare.
“Where trade-offs among force structure, modernization and readiness posture needed to be made, we generally pushed to favor the latter two. This is important, because our military has to have the agility and ability to win not only the wars that could happen today, but also the wars that could happen in the future,” SECDEF Carter, Economic Club of Washington.kem-defense-quarterly_mar-2016-temp
We were thankful for the opportunity to connect with our friends in Air Force leadership and industry, academia & aerospace partners to work innovative solutions utilizing and growing #KEM core capabilities and domain areas to critical issues and challenges currently facing the U.S. warfighter and the aerospace market.
